Agency Feature –– New Heights Community Resource Center

New Heights Community Resource Center, in addition to being the Tuscaloosa Latino Coalition’s main location, houses many resources within its walls that benefit the Tuscaloosa community. New Heights is home to many community agencies like Community Services Program of West Alabama, Disability Rights and Resources, Five Horizons Health Services, a West Alabama Food Bank location, and more.

New Heights has five pillars of focus in its programming: education, homelessness and homelessness prevention, youth services, mental health, and healthcare. The community center addresses needs in these areas through partnership with its nonprofits, the city schools, and financial donors.

Additional, the Tuscaloosa City Schools International Welcome Center is housed within New Heights. TLC partners with this center’s bilingual director and the city schools ESL social worker to connect families new to the area with resources and support.
